Croque-Monsieur
A croque-monsieur is a hot ham and cheese grilled sandwich. It originated in France as a fast-food snack served in cafes and bars. I decided to do my take on this classic French sandwich and coat both sides of the bread with egg whites and crushed cereal and pan fry it. You can eat this anytime of the day and beats any take out food I’ve had. Whip this sandwich up to satisfy your late night craving, with all the breakfast components you crave. The sweet flavor from the honey mustard and the saltiness from the ham complements each other perfectly. The crunchy coating from the cereal creates a wonderful contrast to the rest of the sandwich. So whether you’re making this at 7 in the morning or 11 at night, this sandwich will satisfy your belly without weighing you down.
