Mad Men 2.0

June 16, 2010

If you know me or Brennan well, then you know that we both share a love/obsession for good T.V. shows. It was bound to happen that we would get hooked on this award-winning show, Mad Men. Set in the 1960’s, Mad Men portrays an era of elegance and style, one that we wanted to bring to life in front of the camera. Although this dark drama is not the first thing you think of for engagement pictures, we wanted to do something different. For a more refined style, the Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles did just that and more. My wonderful and amazing photographer, Jen May, suggested this hotel and upon walking in, I was blown away by the sheer magintude of this place. No words could describe just how gorgeous and expansive this space was. From high ceilings to swanky cocktail lounges, this was the perfect place for our shoot. Along for the ride was my maid of honor, Jessica Lieu, who did a fantastic job keeping everyone sane and organized. Hayley Hoffman did an amazing job on make-up and hair and really set the tone for our Mad Men shoot. I wanted something dark and dramatic and Jen May captured this thought beautifully. With red lips, cocktail rings, pearls, whiskey and a pack of cigarettes in tow, we were ready to start shooting. What you see here is the final product of a sheer idea turned reality.

“Shut the door. Have a seat.”
